The Armchair Quarterback’s Guide to the NFL: Week 2
Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers
I don’t like to overreact to one game, but WOW did the Seahawks look good in their opener against Green Bay. When the defending Super Bowl champions look that good in their first game it’s going to be VERY hard to pick against them regardless of who they are playing. I like the Chargers to be in the wildcard hunt this season, but I think the Seahawks are just too complete of team for the Chargers to hang with (even at home). I think this will still be a game at halftime, but look for the champs to open it up in the second half.

Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders
Yet another game that pits two uninspiring teams against each other. Last week the Raiders were unable to get anything going against the Jets while the Texans were able to hold off RG3 and the Redskins. This is a toss up game to me. While I’m not sure I think the Texans are good enough on offense to start the season 2-0, the alternative is picking a Raiders team who’s offense may be even worse. While I like Derek Carr as a long term prospect, he has to go up against J.J. Watt and the gang. Meanwhile, the Houston playmaking trio of Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, and DeAndre Hopkins should be able to put up enough points to pull off the road win here.
