4. Denver Broncos – Sports Authority Field at Mile High

Opened in 2001 to replace Mile High Stadium but is still commonly called Mile High holds 76,125 and many of the traditions that made that stadium one of the toughest to play has carried over to the new stadium.

The Broncos have sold out every game since the stadium opened to continue the sellout streak that began in 1970. That’s not the only tradition that carries over as the two sides of the stadium would chant “go” “Broncos” and fans in the South Stands are as loud as any section in any stadium in the NFL.

Mile High Thunder is not a meteorological phenomenon or a reason to consult your physician, but the noise referred to the noise coming from the upper deck where fans stomp their feet on the steel floors. It is an outstanding sound effect that gives the Broncos a unique acoustic that is unlike anything else in the NFL.

The truly unique home field advantage that the Broncos have at Mile High is just that. It is a mile above sea level where the altitude makes it difficult for even the most fit athletes to struggle to catch their breath and maintain their endurance and stamina in the thin air.

Having Peyton Manning doesn’t hurt either.
