Game: St. Louis Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5)

Pick: Tampa Bay (-5.5)

So, can we just put Jameis Winston on the Rams right now? Or do we have to wait for them to go 2-14 and get the first pick of the 2015 draft? I’m far from Sam Bradford’s biggest supporter, but without him, the Rams are pretty clearly the league’s worst team. And a trip to Tampa Bay to play a Lovie Smith team desperate for its first win is recipe for disaster.

Game: Seattle Seahawks (-5.5) at San Diego Chargers

Pick: San Diego (+5.5)

For as all-time great as the 2013 Seattle Seahawks were, they weren’t overly dominant away from CenturyLink Field. Seattle lost twice on the road and won at Carolina, at Houston, and at St. Louis by a combined total of just 12 points. And it always feels like the Chargers play up to their competition. In 2013 — despite losing games to Oakland, Tennessee, and Washington — San Diego played Denver tough three times and won once, beat Indianapolis by double digits on Monday Night Football, beat Philadelphia in Philly, and destroyed Cincinnati in the opening round of the playoffs. They’re a walking ball of inconsistency, but the Chargers will be prepared for this game.
