Orlando Magic Rumors: Tobias Harris wants contract extension this season
By Josh Hill
The Orlando Magic are hoping that they can get back to the NBA Finals in the near future and the young team they have assembled is starting to come together. There’s a lot to love about the makeup of the Magic but there’s also the need to lock down players that will help in the long term and do so now.

One of those players is Tobias Harris, who is starting to become a star for the Magic but is nearing the end of his rookie scale contract.
Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports that Harris indeed wants to stay with the Magic and is open to working out an extension to his rookie contract this year. The being said, there isn’t a whole lot of confidence that a deal will get done in time before the summer rolls around.
"Obviously, I want to be here,” said Harris. “I love the fans, the city of Orlando and the guys. Management knows I want to be here. It’s the perfect situation for me…I don’t know. That’s up to [Orlando].”"
Orlando is still picking up the pieces from Dwight Howard leaving but they are finally almost done. Guys like Harris, Victor Oladipo and others who hold promise for the future are making things easier on fans but it’s going to get painful if the MAgic start losing players because they failed to lock them up when they could.
