The NFL has been embroiled in a domestic violence scandal following the release of the video showing former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancee and knocking her unconscious. The fallout has been even worse, in particularly for the NFL as they contradict themselves and fumble to try and explain why they didn’t give Ray Rice a harsher punishment and how they couldn’t have obtained the video.

Of course there were reports that the NFL didn’t try, and then reports that they had and saw the video.

All of this leaves parents trying to explain the situation to their children, making it particularly hard for mothers and fathers to explain it to their daughters. SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm discussed how her love of the NFL was challenged this week, and how she had to sit down and explain to her daughter, who was just getting into the NFL and fantasy football, why the NFL handled it the way they did.

All leaving Hannah Storm with a powerful question, “what does the NFL stand for?”
