Jacksonville Jaguars (+6) over Washington Professional Football Team

The Jaguars will likely be a permanent fixture in this space in the early going of the season, even after their week 1 letdown cost us a game in the standings. Jacksonville, who was the recipient of a double-digit line against the Philadelphia Eagles, mounted a 17-0 (!) first half lead last week, but then, the “real” Jags showed up and surrendered 34 unanswered points to break the hearts of degenerates everywhere.

Take them again.

Washington was an absolute mess in amassing just 6 points in their opener against Houston, and the offense under new head coach Jay Gruden has some serious question marks. With a gun to my head, I would state with confidence that Washington possesses a better roster than Jacksonville from top to bottom, but this is another instance of a line that is a point or two too high given what Washington has shown, and no one wants to side with the Jags after what we saw in the second half on Sunday.
