Ralph Wilson Stadium Was Live

Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller fielded a kick off two yards deep in the end zone early in the third quarter. The fast twitch back carved up the Miami Dolphins kick return team with a 102-yard touchdown dash.

That wasn’t even the best part of the sequence. That damn crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium was freaking wild. It wasn’t only on the Spiller TD, but throughout the entire game. It felt like a college crowd with the student section making up the entire stadium not a portion.

It was a day for celebration for an organization that hasn’t had much to celebrate since the turn of the century. The Bills won’t be going anywhere with a new owner in place with local ties plus they moved to 2-0 beating the division rival Dolphins. This game was arguably the high water mark as the Bills try to avoid missing the playoffs for a 15th straight season. They’ve had a losing record in 11 of those seasons including the past nine.

There have been spurts of hope before that weren’t able to be sustained. We wait to see if this is another tease for a fan base dying to root for a winner or if they’ve actually started to head in the right direction.
