NFL: The most disappointing players through Week 2
By Pete Schauer
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings
You knew it was coming, didn’t you? Well, you should have.
I’m not here to lecture on the rights and wrongs of society–although I think a lot of players in the NFL could take a few minutes to listen to it–but I am here to not only discuss my disappointment in Adrian Peterson’s actions off of the field, but also his Week 1 performance vs. the St. Louis Rams.
St. Louis owned the ninth-best rush defense in 2013, but surely a guy who’s highly regarded as one of the best backs in the NFL should be able to muster more than 75 yards on 21 carries–that’s a 3.6 YPC average.
I don’t know how things will play out for Peterson, but when the governor of the state you play in doesn’t even think you should be allowed on the field, you know you’ve surely disappointed more than just a few people.
