player. 13. Coming off his monster week two where his three touchdown, 96-yard performer made him the high-scorer of the week, Gates will take on the Bills looking to continue his on-fire start to the season.  He has at least six catches and 80 yards in each of the first two weeks and should be able to put up another strong game if his ankle allows him to play.  Officially Gates is questionable, but see if he practices and if he does start him with confidence.  . San Diego Chargers. Week 3 @ Bills. Antonio Gates. 6

Dennis Pitta. 7. player. 26. I’m still not ready to jump off the Pitta bandwagon just yet.  Owen Daniels did pilfer a pair of scores from the Ravens top TE on Thursday, but I still like Pitta’s upside going forward.  This week he takes on the Browns who were just crushed by Jimmy Graham, and with an extra few days to prepare I think we’ll see a much improved Gary Kubiak scheme.. Baltimore Ravens. Week 3 @ Browns

8. player. 60. Rudolph and the Vikings will take on the Saints this Sunday who have the worst pass defense in the league, and they’ll do it without their star running back.  Since Rudoph is already leading the team in targets and receptions expect a solid effort on Sunday making him a nice low-risk TE1.  . Minnesota Vikings. Week 3 @ Saints. Kyle Rudolph

9. player. 57. Bennett has emerged as a nice low-end TE1 as well this season using his big frame to pull in a touchdown in each of the Bears first two games.  He has 15 catches in the two games showing Jay Cutler feels comfortable and works to get him the ball.  The Jets aren’t a good matchup against TE, but Bennett is still worth starting if he’s your #1.  . Chicago Bears. Week 3 @ Jets. Martellus Bennett

53. Cameron looks likely to play Sunday against the Ravens and will be welcomed back by an offense in need of playmaking receiving options.  Cameron has been dealing with his shoulder injury for a while, but hopefully he can quickly climb the ranks of the TE1’s as he regains his health and role in the Browns attack.. Cleveland Browns. Week 3 vs Ravens. Jordan Cameron. 10. player

After a career game last week against Dallas, Walker will face a much tougher task as the Titans take on the stingy Bengals.  I like Walker’s upside as a starting TE in fantasy the rest of the season, but this will be a tough matchup for him even though he an Jake Locker have quite the touchdown connection.. Tennessee Titans. Week 3 @ Bengals. Delanie Walker. 11. player. 35

13. player. 123. Witten hasn’t gotten his groove on yet this season with just six catches for 46 yards total in his two games.  The Rams D is vulnerable to the run but they’ve shut down the pass well in the first two weeks and typically don’t give opposing TE much space.  Until he comes alive, I’d look at some other options despite Witten’s name recognition and upside.. Dallas Cowboys. Week 3 @ Rams. Jason Witten

New York Giants. Week 3 vs Texans. Larry Donnell. 14. player. 31. Donnell won the Giants TE job and has emerged as an option over the middle when Eli Manning checks down which has happened often in the first two weeks resulting in 12 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown.  In PPR leagues, he’s even more valuable since he normally catches shorter passes and doesn’t run stretch routes as often as some other TE options.  Look for more volume work for Donnell making him a low-risk play if you need to press him into action on Sunday.

Kansas City Chiefs. Week 3 @ Dolphins. Travis Kelce. 15. player. 124. Kelce showed his upside in week two finishing with 81 yards on four catches.  Since teammate Anthony Fasano is still in the mix, though, and the Chiefs haven’t clearly defined his role, Kelce remains a risky play as your top TE, but he’s also someone to watch and own if your roster allows based on his huge upside.  He also makes a great TE2 play this week.
