5 NFL head coaches who may be gone by Thanksgiving
Rex Ryan – New York Jets
How many years is Ryan going to appear on these lists, and how many lives does he have with the Jets?
After a blistering start appearing in two straight AFC Championship games, Ryan and the Jets have cooled off more than Elton John’s career.
Since the 2010 season, the Jets have finished 8-8, 6-10, and 8-8, not qualifying for the playoffs since that last AFC Championship game appearance.
The axe fell on general manager Mike Tannenbaum after the 2012 season, and despite continued public support for Ryan by owner Woody Johnson, you have to figure that Rexie is next in line.
The Jets need to make the playoffs, point blank. If by mid-November the mean green machine is flopping like a fish out of water, rest assured that Rex Ryan will be the one to suffocate.
For Jets fans who are worried Ryan might actually pull of a winner this season, I point to your quarterback and receiver situation. The 9th life may have been spent already.
