Fantasy Football Week 4: Sleepers and Last Minute Value Options
Wide Receiver
Michael Crabtree-San Francisco 49ers: Crabtree has found the end zone in each of the last two weeks with over 80 yards in each game. He and the Niners host the high-flying Eagles this week who were absolutely destroyed by the Redskins receivers last weekend. Look for Crabtree to get plenty of passes thrown his way, and a monster game is definitely within the realm of possibility.
Steve Smith Sr.-Baltimore Ravens: Aside from the blood, guts, and goggles storylines, Smith continues to draw so many targets in the Baltimore passing attack that he’s a good fantasy play every week. The fact that he’ll be extra amped up for this week’s matchup against his former team should fuel a big game for the veteran slot option. There is a possibility that the Panthers just throw everyone at him to make sure he doesn’t beat them, but I think he’ll find a way to beat them.
Kelvin Benjamin-Carolina Panthers: Benjamin continues to pile up big numbers in his rookie year after another 100 yards with a touchdown last week against the Steelers. The Ravens are beatable deep which is where KB has been thriving this season, so look for another nice game from Benjamin.
Cecil Shorts III: Shorts was targeted often by new QB Blake Bortles and caught the rookie’s second TD pass of the day. Shorts appeared to be healthy and should be the lead receiver on this team which continually is playing from behind. If he can stay on the field this Sunday, he should be able to be a WR4 consideration or a cheap option in salary leagues.
Jeremy Kerley-New York Jets: Kerley is taking over the top WR spot from the injured Eric Decker and developing a nice connection with Geno Smith. This week New York will take on the Lions and may have to throw more since Detroit has been so effective stopping the run. Kerley is a nice value option if you’re pressed for a starter this week.
Terrance Williams-Dallas Cowboys: Williams is a boom-or-bust commodity based on if he and Tony Romo can connect on his deep routes. This Sunday night against a suspect Saints’ secondary, I think Williams could be one or the best low-salary gambles this week.
Last week: Percy Harvin, Keenan Allen, Kelvin Genjamin, Steve Smith Sr., Brian Quick, Andrew Hawkins
