4. Les Miles- LSU

Les Miles’ name comes up any time there’s been a coaching debate. He was a strong candidate for the job after Lloyd Carr left in 2007, and was a front runner for the Michigan job before turning it down and the Wolverines went with Rich Rodriguez. Miles is a “Michigan Man.” He played offensive line for legendary football coach Bo Schembechler at Michigan and the later was a Michigan assistant coach from 1980-81 and 1987-1994.

Miles has been the head coach for LSU since 2005 where he’s boasted a 99-25 record in a tough SEC conference. Miles has won one national championship, two SEC championships and was named AP Coach of the Year in 2011. While he probably won’t leave his head coaching gig at LSU, you can bet that Michigan will be giving him a call and throwing money at him this offseason.
