WINNER: Old Man Steve Smith, Baltimore Ravens

When the Carolina Panthers let Steve Smith go and he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, you know he circled this past Sunday on the calendar. Of course he’d want a little bit of revenge.

He got that and then some.

Smith blew up the Panthers for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns, gashing the secondary and making quarterback Joe Flacco look as good as he did in the playoff run to the Super Bowl a few years back.

We can’t necessarily fault the Panthers for moving on from a guy they felt was a poor fit for the team and the scheme for the same reason the Dallas Cowboys weren’t wrong to move on from DeMarcus Ware. Sometimes the money doesn’t add up for an older player.

Still if you’re keeping score at home, this one ended up as a win for Smith.
