Champ Bailey, CB – Free Agent

Age: 36
Years in NFL: 15
Career highlight number: 52 career interceptions for 464 yards
Hall of Fame Credentials: Yes

Once considered the premier shutdown cornerback in the NFL, Bailey went from being cut by the Denver Broncos to being signed and then cut once again by the New Orleans Saints.

Yes, cut by the Saints. A team that was desperately looking for help in the secondary.

Bailey suffered the fate that is bestowed upon many great defensive backs – not a slowly declining set of skills and performance, but a steep drop off the cliff.

The 15-year veteran has had workouts with several teams since being released by the Saints, but even with a league-wide shortage of quality DBs, nobody has signed Bailey to a deal.

Ladies and gentlemen…Champ Bailey has left the building. And he doesn’t even have to wait until the season is over.
