Tom Brady, QB – New England Patriots

Age: 37
Years in NFL: 15
Career highlight number: 3-time Super Bowl champion and 2-time Super Bowl MVP
Hall of Fame Credentials: DUH (That’d be yes, Vern)

I actually had this spot reserved for another name, I was on the fence about Brady.

That is until I watched tonight’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tom Brady has been quoted as saying “When I suck, I’ll retire”

So…how do we put this delicately, Tom?

Yes, it’s true that Brady hasn’t had a lot of help for the last few seasons. It would appear that the “Patriot Way” is no longer the Tom Brady way…or vice versa.

And it wasn’t just tonight, this is a struggle that has been building and ongoing for a couple of seasons. His team has fallen apart around him, and he’s a man on an island.

But if you watched Brady tonight, it was more than just miscommunication with receivers or poor protection. Tom has lost something, a lot of somethings to be honest. The snap decisions aren’t there anymore, the pinpoint accuracy is lost, and his confidence is obviously shaken.

No, its time Tom Terrific just let the Patriots move on without him. Let’s just remember the cocky, Pepsodent smile-flashing Tom. Not the cheap imitation of early Cam Newton we saw against the Chiefs.
