Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans

While this game isn’t exactly the marquise match up of the week, it looks like it should be a pretty competitive game. The Titans have been reeling since their week one win over the Chiefs and are looking to stop the bleeding. The Browns are coming off their bye week and have played three close games thus far with the all of them being settled by three points or less. I’d like to pick the Titans here, but they’ve been really bad the past three games, getting outscored by a combined score of 100-34. That’s an average loss margin of three full TDs per game. With Jake Locker still trying to come back from injury I just don’t feel safe picking them here. I’ll go with the Browns who have come really close to beating better teams than the Titans, to get the road win here.

St. Louis Rams at Philadelphia Eagles

While the Rams haven’t been good this season so far, I have been surprised by how their passing game has managed to put up pretty decent numbers despite the injury to Sam Bradford. Their defense, on the other hand, has been a let down. If the Rams defensive front line was dominating offenses as I thought they would before the season started I may have called for an upset here. However, with their defense underperforming it’s hard to pick them to go on the road and defeat an Eagles team that is averaging over 30 points per game. With the Rams currently ranked 30th against the run this looks like a good game to get LeSean McCoy back on track. The Eagles defense will give up enough points to keep it interesting, but I think their offense produces enough to get the job done.
