2013-14 Record: 54-28

UNDER! UNDER! UNDER!

Why you should take the Over:

Don’t take the over! Dwight Howard and James Harden are great players and will be great next season, but don’t take the over! The Rockets are asking Trevor Ariza, Jason Terry, Nick Johnson (rookie), Jeff Adrien, and Joey Dorsey to be quality players for them next season. I don’t understand how Houston can have a higher over/under than Memphis. I don’t get it.

Why you should take the Under:

Isn’t it obvious? The Rockets lost three of their best players from last season– Chandler Parsons, Omer Asik, and Jeremy Lin– and replaced them with Ariza (downgrade), Terry (downgrade), and Dorsey (huge downgrade). The Rockets won 54 games last season, and lost three of their best seven players. The Rockets failed to find any suitable replacements, other than Ariza. To me, that’s worth more than four wins.

Take the under on Houston. The Rockets could be in trouble to miss the playoffs, depending on how well Denver, Phoenix, and Portland are next season.
