23. Los Angeles Lakers- 31.5 wins

2013-14 Record: 27-55

I don’t know how to say this in a way that won’t make Lakers fans mad, so I’ll say it anyway: The Lakers suck.

The Lakers two best players, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, likely won’t last the season and will be on minutes restrictions while they’re on the court. Nick Young, Jeremy Lin, and Carlos Boozer literally can’t play defense. I like Julius Randle, but no one can expect much from the rookie this season.

Say what you will about Mike D’Antoni, but at least the Lakers had a playing style and they stuck to it last season, and it worked 27 times last season. Looking at this roster, I can’t picture how this mess comes together to form something productive.

Why you should take the Over:

I guess, if Kobe miraculously reverts back to his 2012 form, the Lakers have a chance to win more than 30 games. In that season, Bryant averaged 27.3 PPG in 38 minutes per game. Even with that kind of performance from Bryant, the Lakers are also going to need Boozer and Nash to take a little trip in the old time machine about ten years back to be actually competitive. The odds of that happening are about one in a gazillion, but yes, Lloyd, I’m telling you there’s a chance.

Why you should take the Under:

Bryant is 36 years old and in his 19th season in the NBA. Nash is 40 years old and also in his 19th season in the NBA. And, the Lakers third-best player is Swaggy P, who goes by “Daddy Swag” to the Lakers’ rookies.

I will take the under on the Lakers.
