Nationals’ Anthony Rendon has a historic night

Anthony Rendon was the Washington Nationals’ best hitter during the regular season this year, and when his team needed him the most in Game 2 of the NLDS against the San Francisco Giants, he stepped up in monumental fashion.

Rendon collected four hits, which not only helped his current team, but it had some historic value to the franchise as a whole as well. In fact, Rendon recorded the first four-hit game by a Washington player since 1924.

90 years isn’t that long ago right? Wrong.

Being mentioned in the same breath of Goose Goslin is a big deal for an up-and-coming player like Anthony Rendon, who is only going to get better as his career progresses. Rendon is only 24-years-old and he is among a few guys that the Nationals are hoping can be a key part of their future.

Rendon’s ability to step up in the playoffs as well as the regular season will bode well for him. There’s a list of players that put up big regular season numbers, but can’t emulate that success in the postseason. The pressure of the big stage hasn’t gotten to Anthony Rendon just yet and that is a major positive for the Nationals.
