Jake Peavy is in a glass case of emotion (GIF)

Jake Peavy was acquired this summer by the San Francisco Giants for the sole purpose of winning in the playoffs. So far, so good.
The MLB Playoffs are high drama, and for a typically reserved game such as baseball, the playoffs can be filled with emotional reactions. Just ask San Francisco Giants’ Game Two starter, Jake Peavy, who ran the gamut of emotions during the Giants’ 3-2 victory against the Washington Nationals on Friday.

Peavy held the Nationals scoreless through 5.2 innings pitched, but wasn’t happy about being removed for reliever Scott Strickland with two outs in the sixth, after Peavy allowed a double and walked the next two Washington hitters to load the bases.
Peavy’s emotions swung the other way, however, when Strickland struck out Ian Desmond on four pitches to end the threat and the inning:
Peavy is a 13-year veteran, but it was only his sixth postseason start in just four career trips. The 33-year old made a start in both the 2005 and 2006 playoffs for the San Diego Padres, and was roughed up in both starts. He did earn a World Series ring in his third trip to the playoffs, with the 2013 Boston Red Sox.
Peavy made three starts for the Red Sox in the playoffs last year, with mixed results, but his start on Friday for San Francisco was likely the best playoff performance of his career.
And Peavy knows how important the playoffs are, and you can see how much playing well means to him, his excitement is obvious:
