NFL: Luck, Manning lead MVP rankings through Week 4
By Pete Schauer
4. J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans
Through four weeks of the season, the Houston Texans have already won more games than they did in all of 2013, and J.J. Watt is pretty much the entire reason.
Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little bit there, but it’s hard to discredit Watt for his MVP-like play on defense this year.
This season already, Watt has two sacks, a fumble recovery and an 80-yard interception return for a TD against the Buffalo Bills last week.
Above all things, Watt has been a monster at applying pressure to opposing QBs. Just take a look at this tweet from the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain:
Watt is the real deal, and his Texans are 3-1 at the top of the AFC South division.
