Guard. Arkansas. Patrick Beverley. 13. player. 100.
With the actual 13th pick in the NBA Draft, the Pacers selected Tyler Hansbrough out of the University of North Carolina. Hansbrough has carved a niche out for himself in the NBA and has had a solid NBA career, but he won’t be selected again with the 13th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft. In the redraft, the Pacers select Patrick Beverly out of Arkansas. Beverly is known for two things and two things only — defense and hustle.
<div class=

There are two ways you could go with this pick. The Pacers have desperately needed three point shooting, but with Danny Green off the board, there aren’t many excellent spot up shooters left in the draft. I wanted to give the Pacers Beverley so we could start imagining in our heads what a defense with Roy Hibbert, Lance Stephenson, Paul George and Patrick Beverley would have looked like the last few years. Holy smokes. The Pacers were already pretty darn good at defense, but put Beverly at the point guard spot and you have got a real juggernaut on your hands.
