NFL Week 5 Top Storylines: DeMarco Murray chasing history
By Andrew Garda
Arian Foster, Houston Texans
Like the Houston Texans, Arian Foster started off the season red-hot, with two games where he totaled over 100 yards on the ground. Then he got hurt, missed the game against the New York Giants as a last minute scratch and looked like he was still hurting in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.
Foster is an interesting guy, good for a quote and possessing of a ton of talent on the field. However, the last two years have been filled with injury, which has limited his effectiveness almost as much as the poor quarterback play he has had to contend with.
It doesn’t get any easier this week with the Dallas Cowboys and given that his hamstring injury clearly still bothers him, he might not get a ton of carries.
With the poor play of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Texans need a strong run game to keep building off their 3-1 record and in order to have that, Foster needs to be healthy.
He isn’t though, and it’s possible this might only get worse as the wear and tear of the season continues.
