LOSER: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Houston Texans

Sometimes the idea that a team has won despite their quarterback is a bit overplayed, but in the case of the Houston Texans and Ryan Fitzpatrick, it’s true.

Over the past three games, Fitzpatrick has thrown six interceptions and just two touchdowns while the Texans have lost two of those three games.

While that’s not all Fitzpatrick—only J.J. Watt is consistently effective on defense and the ground game has been shaky—he has made things much tougher offensively.

Fitzpatrick was always a placeholder at the quarterback position, and most folks assumed the Texans would completely implode offensively, so Fitzpatrick struggling isn’t a shock.

However, the fact that the Texans are 3-2 at this point and in the hunt for the division lead highlights the fact that, had they acquired a solid quarterback, maybe they would have a better shot at winning the AFC South.

It’s hard to be down on a man with a bear like Fitzpatrick’s, but he’s made it possible.
