NFL Week 6 Picks: Tony Romo vs. the World
By Bryce Olin
Carolina Panthers (3-2) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-1)
Like I just mentioned, the Bengals gave up 220 rushing yards to the New England Patriots last week. I can’t picture a scenario where a team gives up that many rushing yards and doesn’t lose the game, so the Bengals definitely have to fix that for the upcoming week against the Panthers.
The Panthers, though, are third-worst rushing team in the league and only average 74.8 rushing yards per game. If they aren’t able to expose the Bengals’ weakness, it’s going to be a long game for the Panthers, especially since their defense isn’t playing half as well as they did last season.
On the other side of the ball, the Bengals should be able to take advantage of the Panthers’ rushing defense that’s allowing 129.6 rushing yards per game. This is the perfect opportunity for the Bengals to get running back Giovani Bernard more involved in the offense and on the right track moving forward.
Dalton’s a good quarterback, but he has limitations. The Bengals are as good as their running game will take them.
