Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is another game where I’m not real confident in my pick. I’m taking the Ravens because I think they’re the better team, but the Buccaneers are another hard team to predict. With Mike Glennon at the helm they beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh and gave the Saints all they could handle in New Orleans. So it’s not unrealistic at all to think that they could beat the Ravens in Tampa. Still, the Bucs are giving up 31.2 points per game compared to just 16 for the Ravens. So I’m sticking with my Ravens pick, but this one does make me a little nervous.

San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders

If I hadn’t previously used the Chargers as my lock of the week pick I would have strongly considered using them in this game. The Chargers are on a roll with Philip Rivers having a great season and their defense only allowing 12.6 points per game. Meanwhile the Raiders offense is only averaging 12.8 points per game. Those numbers were all I needed to see to convince me that Derek Carr and the Raiders won’t be able to keep pace with Rivers and the Chargers. This one is a no brainer.
