In one of the more surprising moves of the offseason, swingman Chandler Parsons joined the Dallas Mavericks.
The Houston Rockets declined Chandler Parsons’ option, making him a restricted free agent. Most thought the Rockets were simply waiting for Chandler Parsons to sign an offer sheet and then they would match. Instead, after Chandler Parsons signed a three-year, $46 million offer sheet with the Mavericks and the Rockets decided not to match.
Chandler Parsons is already trying to impress his new city of Dallas while potentially losing some friends in Houston, claiming Dallas is a “nicer, cleaner” city than Houston.

Parsons averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 47.2% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc and 74.2% from the free throw line last season.In the playoffs, he went for 19.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 43.8% from the field, 36.1% from three and 73.3% from the foul line. In his career, he has put up 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 47.3% from the field, 37.0% from three and 70.5% from the chairty stripe.
