Michael Morse will be on the NLCS roster for the San Francisco Giants after missing the end of the regular season and the NLDS with an injury.

The San Francisco Giants will have another power option as they take the field for the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend. As things stand now, the Giants plan to have Michael Morse back on their roster for their series against the Cardinals.

According to Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area, the Giants plan to add Morse to their NLCS roster:

"Michael Morse traveled to Arizona on Wednesday to take some swings against live pitching in instructional league, he’ll play a game in left field among the low-level prospects on Thursday, and if all goes well with his strained left oblique, the expectation is that he’ll be added to the active roster for Game 1 on Saturday at Busch Stadium. The Giants probably would replace rookie outfielder Gary Brown, who made just one pinch-hitting appearance in the NLDS against the Washington Nationals."

Morse batted .279/.336/.475 this season with 16 home runs and 61 RBI during the regular season. As we have already seen during these playoffs so far, the impact of a home run stands out more than ever.

For the Giants, Morse might not be the most well-rounded player. But if he’s healthy, he could have a real impact on what happens in the NLCS as both the Giants and the Cardinals try to earn another trip to the World Series.
