Patrick Maroon of the Anaheim Ducks will not play against the Philadelphia Flyers Tuesday, per NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk

The Anaheim Ducks are sitting pretty with a 2-1-0 record so far in the 2014-2015 season, but they’ll be down a man on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

More from Anaheim Ducks

According to NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk, forward Patrick Maroon will be sitting this game out, due to an undisclosed injury inflicted during the Ducks’ game against the Buffalo Sabres Monday afternoon. Maroon was boarded low by Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges, and was removed from the game almost immediately.

PHT suggests that the injury doesn’t seem to be career-threatening, but not much more is known about Maroon’s condition. The game continued with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf skating on a line with Matt Beleskey; no word on whether this combination will remain for Tuesday’s game, either.

Although Gorges wasn’t penalized for the hit during the game, it remains to be seen if the league will provide any ‘supplementary discipline’ for the hit. Maroon skated off after the hit favoring his right leg, and had to be helped off by Ducks’ trainers and his teammates.

The Sabres fell 5-1 in the matchup; they sit in eighth overall in the Atlantic Division and are one of the teams competing for last in the league. Based on goal differentials, they should be ranked at the very bottom.
