Alex Gordon made a spectacular catch in the outfield saving an extra base-hit in the fifth inning of Game 4.

The Kansas City Royals‘ magical playoff run has included many spectacular defensive plays.

So one shouldn’t be too surprised that a Royals player made a great grab in the team’s potential championship-series clinching game. This time it was outfielder Alex Gordon, who ran straight into the outfield wall to come down with a fly ball in the fifth inning of Game 4 of the 2014 American League Championship Series.

Watch video of the ridiculous play below:

Gordon hasn’t exactly lit it up at the plate this postseason, hitting just .231 with one home run so far. But this play surely makes up for his struggles at the dish.

There’s something magical about this Kansas City Royals team and this is the latest proof.

Kansas City, who hadn’t been to the playoffs since 1985 before this year, is currently on the verge of making it to the World Series without dropping a playoff game.

The Royals went 89-73 in this regular season and entered the playoffs as the American’s League No. 1 wildcard team.
