New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions

The other team that I have been stubborn to face reality on this season is the Saints. I keep thinking their offense is just going to explode at some point, but they haven’t even managed a winning record to date. Meanwhile, the Lions are 4-2 despite arguably their two best offensive weapons (Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush) dealing with injuries. The biggest reason the Lions have thrived is due to their much improved defense. It’s that advantage at defense that the Lions have over the Saints that make them the smart pick here.

Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers

A few weeks ago Aaron Rodgers told everyone to relax when the Packers started 1-2. Since then the Packers are 3-0 and Rodgers has thrown 10 TDs and zero interceptions in those games. While Cam Newton is keeping the Panthers relevant they aren’t the same team that was one of the best in the NFC last season. Their defense simply isn’t the dominant unit that it was last year. I learned last week not to pick against Aaron Rodgers, I’m not going to make the same mistake again here. I’ll take the Packers at home.
