Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers

While the Chargers swept the Chiefs last season both games were determined by just a field goal and the game in San Diego the Chiefs sat most of their starters and still almost pulled out a win. That’s my way of justifying that my beloved 2-3 Chiefs are capable of going to San Diego and pulling off an upset win over the 5-1 Chargers. While I do believe that’s possible, it’s simply not smart to pick against Philip Rivers, especially when his defense is playing so well too. My heart says the Chiefs, but my head says the Chargers win a close one.

Arizona Cardinals at Oakland Raiders

The Raiders played MUCH better against the Chargers last week than I expected. Derek Carr looks like the real deal, but I think it’s going to take another year or two to build the roster around him. The Raiders are still only averaging 15.8 points per game and giving up 26.8. Meanwhile the Cardinals are 4-1 and playing surprisingly well considering they have been without their starting QB for most of the young season. You have to pick the 4-1 team over the 0-5 team, but if the Raiders play like they did against SD then this could go down to the wire.
