No. 4-1

4. Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts

The future is now for the most hyped young QB in recent years. Andrew Luck is leading the NFL in passing yards per game (333.0) and is tied with Peyton Manning for the most passing TDs in the league with 19 (he also has two rushing TDs). Not only is Luck producing at an elite level, but he’s now doing it against defenses that are specifically game planning to stop the pass. Teams know that Luck is the heart and soul of the Colts team and he is still only getting better.

3. Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers

It would be easy to downgrade Philip Rivers after the Chargers lost at home to the Chiefs last weekend (it felt good to type that). However, downgrading Rivers would be a mistake. Rivers is completing 67.4% of his passes for 280 yards/game, 8.5 YPA, has 17 TDs to just three INTs, has the third highest QB Rating, the second highest QBR, and if Pro Football Focus’s highest graded QB. You can probably make a stronger case to bump Rivers up on the list than you can for dropping him.

2. Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers

I almost bumped Aaron Rodgers up to number one on these rankings. His 18 TDs to just one interception is amazing and his numbers over the past four games are simply off the charts. Since he told the world to R-E-L-A-X about the Packers slow start he’s completed 70.6% of his passes with 13 TDs and ZERO INTs. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Unless of course you are……..

1. Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos

While I considered moving Aaron Rodgers up to the number one spot, how do you downgrade a guy that just set the record for most TDs EVER in the history of the NFL? Not to mention he’s completing 68.7% of his passes for 308 yards per game, 8.5 YPA, with 19 TDs and three INTs. He’s also got both the highest QB rating and the highest QBR in the NFL. Peyton Manning is a living legend and I hope people take time to really sit back and appreciate how good he is. Rodgers has been on fire lately, but Peyton deserves this number one spot.

I’d love to hear what you think of these rankings. Who is ranked too high or too low? If you don’t like where someone is rated I’d love to hear where you think he should be. So feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks for reading.
