NFL Teams On Upset Alert In Week 8
By Pete Schauer
New York Jets (-3.0) vs. Buffalo Bills
There seems to be some sort of newfound confidence in the New York Jets after they hung tight to the last few seconds of their Thursday night game vs. the rival New England Patriots last week.
No confidence here.
I’m more confident in the Buffalo Bills in this matchup even with Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller absent from this one. It’s important to note that the Bills have signed former Dallas Cowboys’ RB Phillip Tanner to complement the backfield which will consist of Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown.
I have no faith in Geno Smith as an NFL quarterback, even with the addition of Percy Harvin, and the area where the Jets’ offense excels–running the football–happens to be where the Bills have had success this season.
Buffalo’s defense ranks fourth against the run, allowing just 80 YPG and no touchdowns.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Buffalo’s defense hasn’t allowed any ground scores this season. Combine that with the fact that Sammy Watkins played like a grown man last weekend and things won’t be pretty for New York on Sunday afternoon.
