5. Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Doug Martin put up a huge rookie season, but has been nothing short of a major disappointment since then. This season has been no different, and the Buccaneers might be seriously thinking about looking for a new running back after the performance that he has shown this year.
So far in four games this year, Martin has only picked up 139 yards and a touchdown on 48 carries. Those numbers simply aren’t going to get the job done for a starting running back that nearly picked up 1,500 yards in his rookie season. Tampa Bay desperately needed him to get back on track, and that has been far from the case this season.
Tampa Bay hasn’t had too many bright spots this season, and they’re looking at a very uncertain future. They were hoping that Martin could come through and offer them a consistent ground game, but it doesn’t appear that he will be able to do that. It will be intriguing to see what the Buccaneers decide to do about their running back situation moving forward, and whether or not they move on and turn to a new starter.
