Roethlisberger breaks record, angers opposing fantasy football players

Ben Roethlisberger’s biggest day passing prior to Week 8 was in the Steelers opener, where he threw for 365 yards with a touchdown and a pick in the Steelers narrow win over Cleveland.

He completely blew that out of the water on Sunday, throwing for 522 yards with six touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s 51-34 win against the Colts.

Roethlisberger’s six touchdowns and 40 completions on the day are the most by any Steeler quarterback in franchise history and his 81.6 completion percentage are the second-highest ever.

In short, it was one of the best quarterback performances we’ve seen in a long, long time.

“Just a tremendous efforts by a lot of people but obviously Ben was the guy tonight,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said.

Roethlisberger had 320 yards and four touchdowns by halftime.

“We just came out and put up a really nice team effort,” Roethlisberger said. “This was offense, defense and special teams, coaches, this was everybody and why does it have to stop here? Why can’t we keep doing this?”

Along with the career day, Roethlisberger might have cemented his place in Canton has he joined Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Terry Bradshaw as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to win 100 games in 150 or fewer starts.  He’s the only quarterback of the 2004 class to achieve the feat.
