2. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

One of the most surprising young quarterbacks has been Russell Wilson, who was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Seahawks knew that he had talent, but they didn’t think that he would be able to lead them to a Super Bowl win in just his second season. He has blown away the expectations, and is one of the NFL’s brightest talents.

Wilson has had a bit of a rough season this year, and there is a lot of drama surrounding the Seahawks’ franchise. He has thrown for 1,490 yards, 11 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. Seattle hasn’t been the dominant team that the NFL was expecting to see, but that hasn’t been due to Wilson’s lack of effort and play.

There are quite a few factors surrounding the Seahawks that simply aren’t healthy and are beginning to become a distraction. The Percy Harvin trade is the main one, and all of the drama surrounding whether or not Marshawn Lynch will be around next season. Wilson is doing his best to put those issues behind him and focus on this season, but he can’t win football games by himself.
