NFL: Ranking the Next 5 Elite Quarterbacks
By Evan Massey
1. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts were blessed with Andrew Luck to replace Peyton Manning, and he is the NFL’s brightest young quarterback at this point in time. Just like any young quarterback, there are areas where he will need to improve in order to reach his full potential. He has shown that he can lead his team to wins in big games, and his potential is nearly endless at this point in time.
Luck has thrown for 2,731 yards on the season, and has also thrown 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The turnover issue has been a concern for the Colts, but he will improve that with more experience. He is a playmaking quarterback that simply wants to make big plays, and gets caught making mistakes here and there.
Indianapolis surrounded Manning with an elite offense, and that is exactly what they will do with Luck. He already has one of the best playmakers in T.Y. Hilton, and has plenty more talent in Reggie Wayne, Donte Moncrief, Hakeem Nicks, Dwayne Allen, and Coby Fleener. That being said, he has a ton of potential and already is one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
