Now that they have locked up center Nikola Vucevic with a four-year extension, they have shifted their focus to forward Tobias Harris. The Magic have until Friday to get an extension done with Tobias Harris but the two sides are very far apart and according to reports, the two sides

will not agree to a deal before the deadline

.

In fact, the Magic could look to trade Tobias Harris and use Aaron Gordon and Maurice Harkless to fill his minutes.

“As for trade — that is always a possibility,” explained Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders. “With Mo Harkless and Aaron Gordon on the roster, the Magic may decide those two fit better in the team dynamic and cash out Tobias in trade.”

In fact, Tobias Harris and his camp probably already know what teams could come calling.

“Its not at all uncommon for a team to ask causally “whats Orlando going to do with Tobias…” Teams ask each other those questions and they ask media members (I get that one a lot) — so I’d bet strongly that Tobias’ camp has an idea of what teams will come calling in July and where they are going to be cap wise, so from their chair why take less money now, if its not the number you are looking for.”

The Magic would prefer to keep Tobias Harris, who is their leading returner scorer, but if Aaron Gordon and Maurice Harkless impress this season, they may consider letting him go.

Last season, Tobias Harris averaged 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46.4% from the field, 25.4% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the charity stripe.
