With Robert Griffin III still nursing his ankle injury and Kirk Cousins unable to perform at a high level, the Washington Redskins turned to Colt McCoy during last Sunday’s 19-17 win over the
.
Head coach Jay Gruden and the Redskins went with Coly McCoy again on Monday night when they took on the Dallas Cowboys and it paid off. McCoy completed 25-of-30 passes for 299 yards with an interception and a seven-yard touchdown run that gave the Redskins a 17-10 lead in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys were able to get a 25-yard touchdown reception by Jason Witten on a pass from Brandon Weeden, who was filling in for an injured Tony Romo, to tie the game and the teams eventually went to overtime.
Colt McCoy drove the Redskins 58 yards for a 40-yard Kai Forbath field goal and the Redskins’ defense then held on for the win.
After the game, both Colt McCoy and Jay Gruden were very happy and were interviewed by Lisa Salters. After the, Colt McCoy moved on to ESPN Deportes reporter John Sutcliffe. Apparently, the Redskins did not want him talking to ESPN Deportes. A PR handler interrupted the interviewed and pulled Colt McCoy out, screaming “NO MEANS NO!” in the process.
