Hardwood Paroxysm Presents: The NBA Season’s Most Anticipated Games
I’m looking forward to Thunder vs. Grizzlies, January 31, 2015
By Jack “Karl” Maloney (@jackhaveitall)
Despite going in as a huge underdog, the Memphis Grizzlies turned last year’s first round playoff matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder into one of the best series of the postseason. The Grizzlies actually had a Game 6 at home in Memphis to win the series, but couldn’t get the job done.
That’s why I can’t wait for their first real rematch this year. I say real because their first meeting is in a few weeks, but Kevin Durant won’t be back for that, and you can’t have a true rematch with one team missing their best player. But come January 31, 2015, these two Western Conference rivals will square off again, and I’m going to make sure I’m tuned in — and you should do the same. Durant and Westbrook and Ibaka vs. Gasol and Conley and Randolph: it’s going to be FANtastic.
