The NBA is back in one of the most anticipated seasons off all time will tip-off on Tuesday when the world champion San Antonio Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Houston Rockets.

The storyline of the season is LeBron James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. James, of course, left the Cavaliers back in 2010 to team with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat. The Cavaliers also signed All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving and traded for star power forward Kevin Love. The Cavaliers are now the favorite to win the NBA Title according to the folks in Las Vegas. They will open their season against the New York Knicks on Thursday night.

The Knicks will get things started on Wednesday night when they host the Chicago Bulls, the team most believe is the biggest challenger to the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, who will be without star forward Kevin Durant for six weeks, and the Los Angeles Clippers appear to be the biggest challengers to the Spurs in the Western Conference.  The Thunder will take on the Portland Trail Blazers to open their season on Wednesday night. They’ll be in Los Angeles to battle the Clippers a night later. Both games will air on national television.

This season should be a lot of fun and it will be interesting to see if LeBron James squares off with the Spurs in the Finals for the third consecutive season.
