NFL: Teams Most Likely to Make Second Half Run
By Pete Schauer
Seattle Seahawks (4-3)
A lot has been made about the Seattle Seahawks this season and them being overrated–I’ll admit I’ve pondered it myself at times–but the Seahawks still have all the components of a strong NFL team: a power running game and a staunch defense.
Despite reports that Marshawn Lynch won’t be back in Seattle next season due to his antics, let’s not forget that he’s still a Seahawk this season and is a top-seven running back in the NFL.
To go with that, Russell Wilson is again playing at an extremely high level and Doug Baldwin is emerging as a No. 1 receiving option in Seattle after the departures of Percy Harvin (trade) and Golden Tate (free agency).
Unlike some other teams in this column, the Seahawks don’t have an easy second half schedule. They still have to play the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals twice as well as the Philadelphia Eagles in the Linc.
Despite the difficult second half schedule, I think Pete Carroll finds a way to light a fire under Seattle and sneak in a Wild Card spot.
