Ducks’ Frederik Andersen Has The Coolest Goalie Mask
Anaheim Ducks netminder Frederik Andersen designs a goalie mask for the ‘Reservoir Ducks’
Goalie masks are my favorite thing, ever, and not just because they’re probably the only reason I still have all my teeth.
Artists across the globe have designed some of the most beautiful, unique, and quirky masks for the netminders of the AHL and NHL. This one, though, has to be one of my all-time favorites: it’s even more intimidating than the bear on the front of Boston Bruins’ Tuukka Rask’s mask from 2013.

For a team that’s already been maybe the most violent in the league during the 2014-2015 season, I consider this a direct threat from the Anaheim Ducks to anyone who dares mess with them.
The Reservoir Ducks.
I really cannot.
So. Incredibly. Cool.
Andersen, 25, is one of the top Danish players in the NHL right now. (He and fellow countryman Mikkel Boedker have yet to face off this season, although the Ducks will play the Arizona Coyotes next Friday.)
HUGE props to David Gunnarsson, the artist who designed this. Gunnarsson has also gained some notoriety around the league this year for a few other mask designs, including that of backup netminder Devan Dubnyk, in which Melman- the giraffe from Madagascar- gets dressed up as a gun-toting, Wild Wild West outlaw.
