No. 28-25

28. Mike Glennon – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5)

Mike Glennon takes a tumble down these rankings after a disappointing home loss to the Vikings. While the Vikings defense is better than advertised, if Glennon wants to be seen as a legit NFL starter he has to win those games, especially at home. His low 58.8% completion percentage isn’t helping either, although it’s worth noting that Glennon’s average completion lands 7.8 yards past the line of scrimmage (tied for second best amongst current starters). That’s probably why his completion percentage is low, he’s throwing farther down field than other QBs. Maybe some more check downs are warranted.

27. Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders (-3)

Derek Carr is down a few spots this week after losing to the Browns. While I still believe Carr is the best of the rookie class, he drops because there are some veteran QBs that are playing solid football and have jumped him in this week’s edition, but Oakland has their QB to build around.

26. Colt McCoy – Washington Redskins

I struggled at what to do with Washington’s QB position for this week’s list. Kirk Cousins was 29th on last week’s rankings and there are reports that RG3 could play next week. In the end, I felt like Colt McCoy has played well enough to earn a spot on this list even if it’s just for one week. His 85.7% completion percentage and 10.2 YPA numbers are fantastic (and completely unsustainable). I don’t know if McCoy will start this week, but you have to respect what he did in the playing time that he got.

25. Ryan Fitzpatrick – Houston Texans (+1)

Ryan Fitzpatrick is probably about maxed out on where he can go on this list. He’s a proven NFL starter, but his upside is severely limited. The worst thing for Houston might be if they hang around in playoff contention just long enough that they don’t get a chance to look at their younger options at the position that might have some long term upside. Fitzpatrick is good enough to not lose his job, but that’s not where you want the bar set.
