Disappointment: Seattle Seahawks

The defense is still very good. It is in the Top-10 in about every category. What it isn’t, however, is dominating like it was last year. It is still difficult to get yards and points off of the Seahawks, but it seemed that other NFL teams just couldn’t do it at all last season.

The offense has been pedestrian for the Seahawks. They rank 13th in the NFL in scoring and 18th in yards gained. They are still good in rushing, ranking second, but are near the bottom, 29th, in passing yards.

The dominance is not there this season, and the record reflects that. The Seahawks own a 4-3 record, two games behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West.

What is with the on-field troubles for the Seahawks? It could be all the off the field troubles the team is experiencing.

Two weeks ago, Seattle shocked many in the NFL when they traded away one of the most talented receivers in the league, Percy Harvin.

There were reports that Harvin was a timebomb ready to blow in the Seattle locker room. He fought with teammates and complained about not getting the ball. After investing draft picks and signing him to a long-term deal, they felt it was important to ship Harvin out to the New York Jets for a conditional pick.

There were also reports that running back Marshawn Lynch was also unhappy and could be traded before last Tuesday’s trade deadline. Whether he is happy or not, we don’t know, but he did not get traded.

The Seahawks are hoping that the locker room situation is sorted out, and the team can get back to winning. It will be an interesting roller coaster to watch if there are still troubles in Seattle.
