Terrance West-RB-Cleveland Browns (30.9%)

West has had a roller-coaster of a season, but things are looking up again for the rookie, and he’s worth adding if he’s on your waiver wire and Tre Mason has already been claimed.  A little bit like Mason, West is in an extremely fluid backfield situation.  Since Alex Mack went down with an injury, the Browns running game has stalled out and lead-back Ben Tate has been extremely ineffective.

Last week against Tampa, West got 15 carries compared to Ben Tate’s ten. On those ten carries, Tate managed a grand total of three yards while West had a decent 48 yards.  He also added a big touchdown receiving in the third quarter and played much of the fourth quarter.  It looks like he’s passed Tate for now, and should be the Browns lead back going forward.

Like Mason, there’s risk that if you start him he won’t get the majority of the work or that he’ll lose touchdowns, but he definitely has potential heading into a great matchup on Thursday Night Football against the Bengals.  If he has a big game on national TV, he’ll be the hottest waiver wire pickup next week, so get ahead of the game and stash him this week or play him as your flex if the bye-week has you stretched to the max.
