4. San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers were not expected to be a playoff team in the AFC this season, especially due to the fact that the play in a very difficult AFC West division. They have a good amount of talent on their roster, but they still weren’t expected to be good enough to make the playoffs. At this point in time, they are sitting at 5-4 and still have a shot to make a run at the end of the season.

Franchise quarterback Philip Rivers has been putting up a big season, but the Chargers have seen some flaws over the past couple of weeks. They will need to improve some things before they are considered true playoff contenders, but they aren’t too far away. It’s an uphill battle that they are fighting, but there is still the chance that they will make it.

It’s a very good story to keep track of, especially as the Chargers have one of the more passionate fans in the league. They leave everything that they have on the field every week, and that won’t change down the stretch.
