NFC 4th Seed (NFC South Champions): New Orleans Saints (9-7)

Someone has to win the NFC South, right? This division is downright awful. Instead of having the division champ go to the playoffs, there should be an extra Wild Card team.

At least the Saints will be exciting. They have a high-powered offense that will win them some games. Their defense is giving up points and yards, and cannot seem to make many stops when needed.

Even with the defensive lapses with the Saints, they are the class of their division.

The Saints rank 21st in points allowed and yards allowed. That is the highest league ranking of any of the defenses from the NFC South. The Carolina Panthers are the closest to the Saints defense-wise, and they rank 25th in the league.

I think the defense will improve slightly for the Saints, at least enough for them to have a winning record. Expect a high scoring first round game and an early exit for them, however.
