NFC 5th Seed: Seattle Seahawks (10-6)

The Seahawks are experiencing some of that Super Bowl hangover people talk about. Last season, they looked nearly invincible and destroyed the Broncos on their way to a title.

This season, things are different. Their defense is still very good, but it does not seem impenetrable like it did last season. Last season, it was almost a given that when the defense needed a stop it would get one. That is not the case this season.

There is also a lot of turmoil going on in the locker room. From Percy Harvin being such a cancer that the Seahawks basically give him away to the New York Jets, to reports of Marshawn Lynch being very unhappy, to whispers about Russell Wilson not being black enough (whatever that means), the Seahawks have had a lot of headaches that needed to be taken care of. That takes a toll on a team.

Through it all, however, the Seahawks are in the thick of things. They are two games behind the division leaders, Arizona Cardinals, but they have two games against them to play in the second half.

If they can deal with the distractions that have held them back so far this season, the Seahawks have a shot at the division title. They won’t catch up to the Cardinals, but they will capture a Wild Card berth. Then watch out for them in the playoffs.
